Job hunting is emotionally difficult

When I talk to job hunters I realize the emotional toll looking for a job takes on people.  Nukes are successful, talented people not accustomed to rejection.  I wish I could do something to ease the pain.

Try a job hunting tactic that is so wild you expect to fail.

Trying something that you expect to fail frees you from your expectations of yourself.  It is designed to be an emotional break from traditional job hunting.  I recently applied for a mentor program.  I didn’t think that I would be selected.  Rather than submit the best typical application, I had fun.  I wrote what I wanted to write and did not worry about the audience.  I was selected and told my application stood out.  The best part is that I did not have the fear of rejection.  I freed myself when I did something I expected to fail.
